Student Transitional Memberships
Yankee Division provides free SAF transitional memberships to five qualified individuals. Transitional memberships are available to recent college graduates (up to five years post-graduation) with a degree in forestry or natural resource management. They are intended to help ease the financial burden of new graduates who are often in entry level jobs and loaded with student debt.
Transitional memberships offer the benefits of full membership, such as free subscriptions to the Journal of Forestry and the Forestry Source, access to the SAF Career Center, as well as discounts to the National SAF Convention. The grants will cover the $95 cost of transitional membership to National SAF, plus $25 for the NESAF and local state chapter (CT, MA, RI) dues. The Yankee Division currently does not collect annual dues.
HOW TO APPLY:
Applicants must reside in CT, MA, or RI. Applications will be accepted and grants awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are selected for a grant, you will receive a $120 check from Yankee. The applicant is responsible for registering to become a member of SAF. An applicant can only receive one grant.
