Description:
Position is responsible for implementation of the Forest Health and Fire Programs for the State of VT in three central VT counties. Forest health duties include monitoring of forest health plots, reporting on insect and disease occurrences and providing identification services to Vermont citizens on forest and tree health issues. Fire responsibilities include administration of the Forest Fire Warden program, support for local fire departments for prevention and training needs, instruction of wild land fire control techniques maintaining District fire equipment and participating in prescribed burns. Skills in invasive plant management, oral and written communication, knowledge of GIS, database and basic office software are also desired for this position.
