Join the team of State Lands Foresters from the Department of Forests, Parks & Recreation in the Barre District office in beautiful Central Vermont. The majority of the work will occur on land owned by the Agency of Natural Resources and will involve all aspects of forest management, including but not limited to timber sale layout, harvest prescriptions, timber marking, and sale administration; forest resource inventory; forest mapping using the latest GIS technology; road maintenance, construction layout, and oversight; and boundary line reconnaissance and maintenance. Other duties may include forest health monitoring and prescribed burns.

The duties for this position will occur primarily in a field setting, but associated office work will be required. The successful candidate will be part of the Barre District Stewardship Team, which is a group of resource professionals comprised of staff from the Departments of Forests, Parks & Recreation, Fish & Wildlife, and Environmental Conservation.
