Join a team of FPR professionals responsible for managing state forest and parks lands in southeastern Vermont. This position will work on a variety of projects, but with a significant portion of responsibilities related to recreation access, maintenance and improvements on state lands. Work includes close collaboration within the Department of FPR but also with Fish and Wildlife staff and with external partnering organizations and individuals. Other duties will include assistance with both annual and long range management planning, mapping, GIS and data management, boundary maintenance, forest inventory and assessment, planning and administering timber harvests and development and maintenance of wildlife habitat. This position may supervise temporary trails coordinator or temporary forestry technician. A significant portion of this job will be spent in the field under a variety conditions including remote lands and steep trail systems.
