The Thompson School of Applied Science / Department of Natural Resources and the Environment is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE, academic year – nine-month) Lecturer position in the Forest Technology Associate of Applied Science program, beginning August 23, 2021. The position will be for a three-year, renewable term. Subject to department needs, the incumbent will be responsible for teaching a course load of six units (typically 24 semester credit hours) in the broad field of forestry. This position requires a combination of field experience and formal education. Candidates will have interests in forest mensuration, geographic information systems (GIS), arboriculture, silviculture, forest management, forest fire control and use, and dendrology. Other workload requirements will include advising students in the Forest Technology program, serving on committees, and assisting with maintenance and coordination of Forest Technology facilities and equipment.
Renewal of the position after the initial three-year period may be possible at the discretion of the college. An appointment for a lecturer position includes the full benefits package of the University for non-tenure-track faculty. Lecturers at UNH are represented by the AAUP through a collective bargaining agreement.
