VYCC Crews come together to complete meaningful projects that positively impact communities throughout the state. VYCC is seeking Leaders for summer and fall young adult forestry crews. These crews combine service, learning, and work, supporting crew members as they build their professional skills. Most of the work will be in numerous aspects of Timber Stand Improvements. There will be a diverse set of locations including private, public and NGO sites.
We are hiring Forestry Crew Leaders to work in the summer and fall with young adults new to the field of forestry. These Leaders camp with Members for the duration of the season and play an important role in developing the crew community while supporting the individual crew members.
We are also hiring Forestry Pro Crew Leaders for the fall only, working with Forestry Pro Crew Members who have previous experience in forestry. These Leaders have the option to camp with Members during their work hitches but also have the flexibility to return home each night, depending on the project location.
Compensation between $535 and $585/week depending on experience.
Qualifications vary based on position, USFS Level B preferred for both positions.
