SCOPE OF WORK:
Conduct forest information gathering and analysis activities within the Division of Forests and Lands and in cooperation with Department personnel and external partners, to support statewide resource management, forest policy decision making, and organizational effectiveness.
Coordinates the collection and analysis of Forest Inventory & Analysis and Forest Inventory Monitoring data in cooperation with the USDS Forest Service.
Collects, processes and analyzes data on timber harvest and wood flow activities in the state, including annual Report of Cut Information.
Maintains, updates and analyzes state‑managed forest land data including: forest composition and volume statistics; harvest levels; and recreation activities.
Assists Division staff in developing monitoring programs, and planning and implementing data
collection, storage and analysis.
Conducts monitoring program for Division identified measures of accountability.
Coordinates development and monitoring of statewide indicators of forest sustainability.
Coordinates Division GIS activity with other state and federal agencies and organizations. Represents
the Division of Forests and Lands on the GIS Advisory Committee.
Prepares technical reports on results of analysis.
Designs and conducts surveys on forest resource issues.
Works in partnership with other agencies and organizations including: NH Department of Fish and
Game, UNH Cooperative Extension, US Forest Service, Natural Resource Conservation Service,
and NH Department of Agriculture.
