Regretfully, the leadership of the Yankee Division who were planning this year’s Annual Winter Meeting and the NESAF Executive Committee have jointly and unanimously agreed to cancel the upcoming Winter Meeting that had been scheduled for Springfield, MA. We are facing an impossible situation for a group of volunteers to handle in the face of a legitimate public heath situation. Given the trajectory of guidance for large gatherings of people, and daily pronouncements from public officials limiting travel, it was just not feasible for us to proceed safely into the final planning stages and execution of a successful Annual Meeting. Information about refunds and cancellations have been e-mailed to registrants.

Open Call for Posters and Flash Talks
Thursday, March 26 from 10:30-11:30 (posters), 3:40-5:00 (flash talks)
To engage all members, we are seeking both traditional poster presentations and flash talks. Researchers, field foresters, and other land managers are encouraged to participate with a poster or flash talk, as sharing your experiences will benefit the entire membership. An abstract is required for either poster or for a flash talk. The abstract includes a title and author’s names, affiliations, and locations, lead author’s contact information, and whether the submission is being considered for a poster or flash talk. The body of the abstract (not including names, etc.) is limited to 300 words. The deadline for submission is February 21, 2020.
The lead authors of posters and flash talks accepted for presentation will be notified by email by March 6, 2020 and accepted abstracts will be included in the Spring NESAF News Quarterly.
Poster Guidelines: Posters will be in a prominent location and available for viewing on March 25th with the Poster Session on March 26th. NESAF will provide easels and 48 x 48 in foam core board for display.
Flash Talk Guidelines: The flash talk session is on March 26th from 3:15 to 4:30. Up to ten presentations will be selected from submitted abstracts. The 10-minute timeframe is strictly enforced with 7 minutes for presentation and 3 minutes for questions.
To secure a poster space and submit your flash talk abstract for consideration, contact Tony D’Amato (firstname.lastname@example.org) by February 21, 2020.
